It looks like Jason Momoa may have accidentally revealed that Ben Affleck's Batman is set to appear in Aquaman 2. The DCEU, despite its many changes behind-the-scenes, is moving forward with new and returning franchises. First introduced in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Aquaman is one of the major Justice League characters who is continuing with his mythology in the DCEU. Starring Momoa as the King of the Seas, 2018's Aquaman became a box office and critical success, reaching over $1 billion dollars globally.

Thanks to Momoa's first installment, Aquaman has become an even more popular character globally to the mainstream audience. While the Justice League may not be getting back together on the big screen as of yet, Arthur Curry will return next year for his latest adventure in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. However, it looks like another major hero may be joining the DC icon for the Aquaman sequel.

Already set to return in next year's The Flash, Affleck's Batman may be back more than once in 2023. Momoa shared a picture of himself side-by-side with Affleck at the Warner Bros. studio lot, which appeared to be a celebration of their reunion. However, Momoa also posted a video that seemingly confirms Affleck's Batman is in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. It looks like a tour group at the WB lot spotted Affleck and Momoa on set together, prompting Momoa to outright reveal his co-star's presence. "Well, we tried to keep it a secret," Momoa says in the video. In his caption, he writes, "REUNITED bruce and arthur." Check out his full post below.

Warner Bros. and DC Films have yet to comment on Affleck's supposed involvement with Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. It has been suggested that The Flash was supposedly going to be the end of Affleck's run as Batman in the DCEU. With Michael Keaton returning as his Batman from the Tim Burton universe, that incarnation is set to appear in the Batgirl movie as the DCEU's "new" Caped Crusader. Given that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom now comes out before The Flash, it's possible the film will set something up for Affleck's Batman that gets followed up in the subsequent movie, but that is pure speculation at this point.

While this is a surprise to say the least, seeing Affleck's Batman back for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be intriguing, should this be what Momoa is actually confirming in his post. With all the changes that are going on at Warner Bros. Discovery following the merger, it wouldn't be shocking if perhaps Affleck's time as Batman isn't entirely over after The Flash, despite Keaton's future. But until more is revealed, time will tell what Affleck's Batman will do in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom when it hits theaters next year.
