A LEGO version of the Justice League movie’s poster has been released online. Set to roll out in theaters this November, the Snyder/Whedon film will unite DC’s biggest heroes – Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) – for the first time as they try to keep earth safe from the imminent arrival of Steppenwolf.
With just less than three months before it rolls out in the cinemas, Warner Bros’ marketing machine is slowly ramping up with trailers, posters and more. And the hype is real – fans are clamoring for more of the film and are already making their own twists on the characters. Just last week the movie’s SDCC trailer was recreated in LEGO. Obsession with the plastic bricks is now official care of a new poster.
Coming from the Justice League website, the LEGO-based version of the “Unite the League” posted features Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg as minifigures against a soft sunlit backdrop. Looking closer at the artwork, it also captures even the finer details of its source model with the Bat of Gotham keeping his impassive face while the Victor Stone maintains his shocked expression. Check out the nifty image below.
Not just a fun poster, this is also sly promotion for merchandise. There are several building sets that will tie into the film’s release (some of which have actually given a taste of the movie’s under-wraps plot). LEGO often makes posters riffing on their licenses, although this has to be one of their finest efforts.
Of course, as this was one of the earlier marketing materials, Superman is nowhere to be seen. The Man of Steel’s eventual return in Justice League after his death in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is one of the most anticipated aspects of the film. And as Justice League’s release draws nearer and nearer, the Kryptonian is being slowly incorporated into the movie’s marketing, albeit still not making an appearance in any of its trailers.
It is no secret that Justice League‘s production has been a tumultuous one. From countless rumors regarding its extensive reshoots to original helmer Zack Snyder having to step down from directorial duties prompting Joss Whedon to step-in, the film has gone through a lot during its production. More recently, it was revealed that while Snyder will still remain the sole director for the movie, Whedon will be getting a writer’s credit.
