By all accounts, it sounds like Godzilla vs Kong did what it came to do. Viewers are praising the film for its visual scale and the bombastic fight scenes between the two Titans and that’s what fans are looking forward to most of all. Nailing the intricate CGI battles is all important in a movie like this and the MonsterVerse has never had problems with its action. It sounds like Godzilla vs Kong dials that action all the way up to a ten and should please fans who have longed to see the two monsters duke it out on screen.

Most of the criticism is leveled at the human side of the film’s plot which, again, is unsurprising. The MonsterVerse has had an iffy track record in fleshing out its human characters and Godzilla vs Kong sounds no different. Luckily, the humans play a small role in determining whether or not this film succeeds and it seems like it does just that. Early reactions tend to come from those who will be more positive about the film, but its hard to downplay how critical the action is to a film like this and most of those viewing the film are used to seeing large scale blockbusters. It sounds like Godzilla vs Kong, for all its flaws, is exactly what fans want and need.
