Early reactions to Godzilla vs Kong are rolling in. Legendary kicked off the Monsterverse with 2014's Godzilla before fleshing out his longtime enemy in Kong: Skull Island a few years later. The universe was expanded on in Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019, teasing the battle to come between the two Titans. Early trailers have posited Gojira as the villain of the film, but that has increasingly come into question as more promotional materials roll out.
When the two Titans come to a head, they will also have teams rooting them on. Rebecca Hall, Alexander Skarsgård, and Kaylee Hottle will be rooting for Kong, while Millie Bobby Brown (returning from King of the Monsters) and Brian Tyree Henry will be trying to find out why Gojira is seemingly lashing out at the world. King of the Monsters saw Godzilla end up with the world on his side, but it seems like the tides have changed since then. Godzilla may have bigger fish to fry, though, with his battle with Kong and a potential appearance from Mechagodzilla.
Godzilla vs Kong seems absolutely jam-packed with plot and fight sequences and now that early reactions are rolling in fans can get a sense of just what's in store for the film. Those who have viewed the film praise Godzilla vs Kong's fight sequences between the two Titans, saying that the action lives up to the hype. There is some criticism leveled at the human side of the plot, with some saying that the characters do not feel fleshed out enough to come off as realistic. Check out some of the reactions below:
