The official trailer for the upcoming thriller miniseries The Last Thing He Told Me features Jennifer Garner searching for her missing husband. The miniseries, which is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Laura Dave, will follow Garner's character, Hannah, and her stepdaughter as they uncover secrets about Hannah's missing husband.
The official trailer for The Last Thing He Told Me was released by Apple TV+ as audiences get their first look at Hannah's search for Owen, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
The trailer features Garner's Hannah with her stepdaughter Bailey, played by Angourie Rice, as the pair learn of the seemingly sweet Owen when he leaves a note for Hannah that says only "Protect her" before he goes missing. Hannah and Bailey then begin their search for Owen, as the mystery of his disappearance and true identity begin to unravel for his wife and daughter.
Everything We Know About The Last Thing He Told Me
The series was adapted for television by the original novelist, so readers who enjoyed the book can expect a faithful adaptation of the story. The narrative follows Hannah and Bailey trying to put the pieces together as they learn of the FBI raiding Owen's office, discover a duffel bag with $600,000 in cash, and deal with people revealing that Owen is not who they think he is. The story is as much about the mystery surrounding Owen as it is about Hannah forging a relationship with her distant stepdaughter.
The series is a joint production between 20th Television and Lauren Neustadter and Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine production company. The mystery-thriller series was created by Dave and her husband Josh Singer, who has had an illustrious career as a screenwriter, with credits including The Post, The Fifth Estate, and Spotlight, the latter of which earned him an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. In addition to Dave, Singer, Witherspoon, and Neustadter, Garner is a producer on the project as well.
Hollywood veterans David Morse and Victor Garber will also feature in The Last Thing He Told Me, with their suspicious looks in the trailer hinting at what their roles could be in the series. The cast will also include Aisha Tyler and Geoff Stults as Jules and Jake, respectively, in this seven-part mystery miniseries that will ultimately reveal the truth about the character played by Coster-Waldau, who most viewers will recognize for playing Jaime Lannister on Game Of Thrones.
