There are a lot of big movie trailers coming in December 2018. With no Star Wars movie for the first time since 2014, December 2018 is a hot release window and every studio is throwing their hat in the ring; the next few weeks sees the release of potential blockbusters Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Mortal Engines, Aquaman, Bumblebee and Mary Poppins. And those banner names make it the perfect time to also get trailers for 2019 movies in front of a massive audience.

Already in the past month, we got trailers for a lot of major upcoming movies - Detective Pikachu, Toy Story 4, The Lion King, Artemis Fowl, The Lego Movie: The Second Part, Dumbo and Captain Marvel - and you can expect up to another half dozen before the clock chimes on December 31.

Thanks to all the rumors and purported changes to plans while studios keep (mostly) quiet, it can be hard to keep up. With that in mind, here's a breakdown of every movie trailer rumored to be coming in the next month.

AVENGERS 4 (TRAILER RUMORED FOR FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7)

The most anticipated trailer of the year, let alone month, is Avengers 4. Expected initially in late-November, Disney and Marvel have been completely mum on the trailer, leading to rampant speculation and frustration. It was expected to drop on Wednesday, December 5, but was reportedly pushed back to avoid conflict with George H.W. Bush's funeral. The latest Avengers 4 rumors suggest the morning of Friday, December 7, which seems like a safe bet.

SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME (TRAILER RUMORED FOR SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8)

Rounding off Marvel's big week after Captain Marvel and Avengers 4, a Spider-Man: Far From Home teaser trailer is rumored to drop on Saturday, December 8 during Sony's panel at Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in San Paulo, Brazil (around midday PST). This will see it ready to pair in theaters with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, as has long been expected.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS (TRAILER CONFIRMED FOR SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9)

The first look at Godzilla: King of the Monsters came at SDCC, and with just over five months until the movie hits, it's well due another trailer. This has been confirmed by director Mike Dougherty to come on Sunday, December 9 as part of Warner Bros. CCXP panel. As with Spider-Man: Far From Home, the Godzilla 2 trailer is expected to drop online after debuting at the convention.

SHAZAM! (TRAILER RUMORED FOR SUNDAY, DECEMBER 9)

Another Warner Bros. 2019 movie that debuted a teaser at SDCC was Shazam! With that film's release in April, a trailer before the New Year to enter cinemas alongside Aquaman feels inevitable. It's been rumored that this will also arrive on Sunday, December 9, and while that could be deemed to compete with fellow WB movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters, it would track with a strong CCXP presence for the studio.
