A new Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves trailer releases and provides a better look at Paramount's movie adaptation of the tabletop role-playing game. Directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant. Paramount kicked off the film's marketing campaign at San Diego Comic-Con 2022 with the first trailer, but there has been no other trailer released over the last six months.

Now that the movie's release is less than two months away, Paramount has released a new Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves trailer.

The new Dungeons & Dragons trailer provides plenty of new looks at the live-action adaptation of the RPG ahead of the movie's March 31, 2023, release date. It reveals new story details about the film and teases its very comedic tone, making the fantasy story look more like Thor: Ragnarok than Game of Thrones.

Everything The Trailer Reveals About Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

After the first trailer highlighted the film's big action set pieces, this new Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves further confirms that the movie is aiming for a very comedic tone. This is not all that surprising with the directors of Game Night helming this adaptation. The comedic tone that makes Honor Among Thieves look like Paramount's attempt to get a Thor: Ragnarok-style hit also lines up with recent statements made by the creative team. They confirmed that they were heavily inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe's tone that balances heart, comedy, and action. If the previous marketing materials did not convey this enough, the new Dungeons & Dragons movie trailer does.

In terms of new plot details revealed by the footage, it is confirmed through Chris Pine's Edgin the Bard and Regé-Jean Page's Xenk the Paladin that the Red Wizards of Thay are the movie's main villains. Edgin's group of thieves helps the Red Wizards steal a powerful artifact that allows them to create an army of the undead. The Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves trailer shows more of the Red Wizards and their undead army. It also highlights more of the quest that Edgin's party goes on to try and correct their mistake and save the world.

Key elements from Dungeons & Dragons are also featured throughout the trailer. This includes plenty of new looks at the various dragons that are going to be included in the movie, as well as some other Dungeons & Dragons monsters. There is also more of a focus on the magic that several characters will use and new looks at the iconic locations that will be visited. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves has all the elements to be a great adaptation of the popular TTRPG, and it will become clear very soon if the movie sticks the landing.
