A new trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners promises non-stop frenetic NSFW action. The upcoming 10-episode Japanese Netflix anime series follows David Martinez (Kenichiro Ohashi), a young street kid from Arroyo, Santo Domingo trying to survive in the dystopian metropolis known as Night City. Joined by Lucy (Aoi Yűki), a Netrunner, David becomes an outlaw, a mercenary also known as a cyberpunk. Rafał Jaki serves as showrunner for the series, which is produced by Studio Trigger (Little Witch Academia, Promare) with Kill la Kill's Hiroyuki Imaishi set to direct.

Netflix recently released a new trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Following a brief discussion where Lucy questions David about his dreams, the flashy frenzied trailer promises intense bloody cyberpunk action with David stating, "You either lose your mind or die, no in-between." The trailer features severe images of violence and nudity in a kaleidoscopic video of blood and cybernetics. Check out the visceral and gory trailer below.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a spin-off of the controversial but popular action role-playing video game Cyberpunk 2077 from Polish video game developer CD Projekt Red, the creator of the critically-acclaimed The Witcher series. The science-fiction game places the player in the body of a fully-customizable player named V, who is thrust in a winding tale of deceit as he explores the depths of Night City's underworld, an open-world adapted from the 1988 Cyberpunk tabletop RPG from Mike Pondsmith. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners so far looks like an energetic and well-animated adaptation, and it will be interesting to see what longtime fans have to say when it arrives on Netflix.
