Brie Larson reveals she auditioned for Star Wars (and a few other famous franchise movies). After snagging a well-deserved Best Actress Oscar for her performance in the drama Room, Larson became a bona fide action hero with her performance as Captain Marvel in the MCU movie introducing the famous Marvel comics character. Larson of course reprised the role of Carol Danvers in the epic Avengers: Endgame.

After the massive success of Captain Marvel, it’s no surprise that Larson is set to return in a sequel, but Captain Marvel might in fact not be the only on-going gig the actress enjoys under the Disney umbrella. In fact, there has been plenty of speculation that Larson is a lock to take on a role in a Star Wars film now that MCU boss Kevin Feige has been assigned to guide the future of that particular franchise. Indeed, the internet had a lot of fun at one point wondering if Feige might not tap Larson to portray a live-action version of popular Star Wars animated character Ahsoka Tano (this before it was revealed that Rosario Dawson will actually play Tano on the Disney+ series The Mandalorian).

As it turns out, the speculation about Larson joining the Star Wars universe was not very far off base, as she did once audition for a role in the outer space franchise. Larson confirms this bit of news in a new video posted to YouTube in which she converses with an array of different friends in rather free form fashion. In the clip, Larson reveals she also auditioned for Hunger Games and a Terminator reboot (she doesn’t specify which Terminator reboot, but odds are it was Genisys as that movie was made before she was a star). In fact, Larson tells a quick story about losing out on the Terminator:

Larson offers no more details on her Star Wars audition, except to laugh when her friend asks her how that audition went (obviously, she did not get the part). Exactly which role Larson was up for in Star Wars is anyone’s guess, but perhaps that detail will surface at some point (and maybe there’s even some audition video out there that could be released).

Though it must have been very disappointing for Larson to miss out on Star Wars, it’s hard to feel too sorry for her as she did later land Captain Marvel, a role that catapulted her to fame. And of course, with more Star Wars movies coming at some point in the future, she will still have her chance to play a character in that universe (whether it be Ahsoka Tano or someone else). And the good news is, after already proving herself to be an able action hero as Captain Marvel, Larson surely won’t have to audition for Feige and the rest of the suits at Disney.
