Marvel's highly anticipated Black Widow movie gets an earlier release date in the UK this October. The film featuring one of the most beloved characters from the Avengers franchise has been in the works for quite some time, yet its initial release was changed in accordance with precautions taken during the coronavirus pandemic. Now new details are being revealed about when the film will finally hit theaters.

It should come as no surprise that fans would expect a big budget film featuring the Avengers' resident Russian badass Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow. Skillfully portrayed by Scarlett Johansson, Black Widow has been one of the most popular heroes in the MCU, beginning with her first appearance in 2010's Iron Man 2. Shortly after, Johansson returned to the role in the first Avengers film and has been dominating screens ever since with every scene stealing moment. In last year's Infinity Saga finale, Avengers: Endgame, she forever solidified her place within fans' hearts after appearing in one of the most gut wrenching scenes in the film. This of course made MCU fans eager for more Black Widow, but the film's release date was delayed to Nov. 6 due to movie theater shutdowns. However, now it's been revealed the United Kingdom will get the movie earlier than other regions.

Black Widow was originally slated to release on May 1, but Marvel Studios and parent company Disney changed the date due to the current coronavirus pandemic. Now Digital Spy reveals Johansson's Black Widow movie will premiere a bit earlier in the UK than elsewhere, with an October 28 release date.

This is no doubt great news for fans in the UK. It's not entirely surprising, considering movies tend to premiere in the United Kingdom before making their stateside debut. However, because of the international shutdown of movie theaters, all films within the MCU have been pushed back, with Black Widow taking Eternals' November release date and that film being delayed to 2021. Further, the UK's impending release date is going to be predicated on whether or not the theaters are open by then. But with the way things are looking over in the UK, this date may stick since there have already been talks about reopening movie theaters as early as July.

Only time will tell whether or not Black Widow will indeed adhere to its October release date in the UK, but hopefully things will even out so fans can check out the film. And the same can be said about moviegoers in the States as well since the film is slated to premiere on Nov. 6. In any case Black Widow is one of the most highly anticipated blockbusters of 2020 and it will hopefully be a success at the box office and entertain audiences as soon as it premieres.
