After many years in development, DC's Black Adam is finally here. It had been a passion project of star Dwayne Johnson, who had promised it to usher in the new age of DC movies. It has been an uncertain time with DC recently, with the cancelation of Batgirl and WB's merger with Discovery. But there are still a lot of films to look forward to in the DCEU and beyond.

In the past, DC and Warner Bros. have been reactionary in the attempt to catch Marvel Studios and the MCU, with projects announced and then soon after disappearing off the slate altogether. But more recently things are starting to look up, with successes like The Batman in their locker. There are 10 films confirmed to be coming after the release of Black Adam, and here is the list of each of them with the respective release dates.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods (March 17, 2023)

Aptly, the first film set to be released after Black Adam is Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The sequel to the 2019 original once again stars Zachary Levi and Asher Angel and is directed by David F. Sandberg. Possibly the most fun of all the recent DC films, the Shazam! sequel will be high on a lot of fans' must-watch lists, with it looking to up every aspect of the original. The Shazam family seem to have larger roles, all marked with upgraded suits. The cast also includes Helen Mirren as the villain which should add another element to the enjoyment of the film. It is set to be released March 17, 2023.

The Flash (June 23, 2023)

If Black Adam is one of the films with the longest time between announcement and release, then The Flash is right on its tail giving it a run for its money. For context, the film was originally announced just after the premier of the CW's Flash TV series, the ninth and final season of which will have aired by the time this movie is released. After many delays over multiple years, and with the ongoing controversy with its star Ezra Miller, the film finally has a firm release date. After losing a heap of directors — including Rick Famuyiwa and Seth Grahame-Smith — Andy Muschietti is the man at the helm. The film will follow Barry Allen as he attempts to save his mother from dying in the past, based on a plot from the 'Flashpoint' comics. The film will introduce Sasha Calle as Supergirl to the DCEU, and it will also mark the return of Michael Keaton as Batman, reprising his role from the 1989 film. As things stand, it is set to be released June 23, 2023.

Blue Beetle (August 18, 2023)

Originally intended to be released alongside Batgirl (before its cancelation) as the second DC film to drop on HBO Max, it was promoted up to a theatrical release. Blue Beetle follows Jaime Reyes, a Mexican-American teenager from Texas who discovers what he thinks to be a scarab but turns out to be an alien battle suit. Xolo Mariduena will star, directed by Angel Manuel Soto from a script by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer. It seems to be going slightly under the radar at the minute, but could end up being a welcome surprise when the film is released August 18, 2023.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (December 25, 2023)

James Wan returns to direct this sequel after the original Aquaman's outstanding turn at the box office back in 2018. The original was written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Will Beall, with just Johnson-McGoldrick returning for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson reprise their roles from the first movie, with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Black Manta assumed to return also. Wan has said this will have a more serious tone to the first movie and be larger in scope, with different worlds being shown through its runtime. The late December slot was a winner for the studio the first time around, so it's stuck with it this time, with a December 25, 2023 release.
