So yes, Apollo is a WAY better music tracker!

Last but not least, did you ever read their rules and their ratio requirements? They are not strict at all. They require ratio 0 up to 0.6 (depending on each user's downloaded data) so surviving there is not as hard as you describe. On the contrary, i would say it's fairly easy to survive on Apollo:

    Just my two cents
Same principle you said about seed difficulty doesnt make tracker bad, applies for number of torrents - you cannot say the tracker is better because it has more torrents. Waffles had 300 000 meaningful torrents. Apollo has maybe 2 times more torrents, but... 90% of that is stuff which almost nobody is looking for, and many versions of same title (flac/24bitflac/mp3). I did some searches and still think waffles was better contentwise overally.

Anyway, I don't wish to argue with you guys about that, if you love it, you love it I really hope it will improve by time, because those fallen are being missed...

It's not an argument or something. Each user just say his opinion and EVERY opinion is welcomed on TI

And i am not in love with Apollo neither with any other tracker. Actually i don't even have time to use any tracker the last years!!!

About the seeding difficulty it's obviously not a reason to tag a tracker as "BAD" especially since ALL the music trackers are a pain to maintain a good ratio.

About the content, it's just not fair to compare a 2 months old tracker (Apollo) with 9 years old trackers (Waffles and/or What.cd). It's IMPOSSIBLE to be uploaded in 2 months as many (rare/unique) torrents as were uploaded on Waffles the last 9 years. But even the current amount of torrents (x2 than waffles ever had) is very important, even if some torrents are different version/quality of the same CD/Album/Song/Whatever (which is good anyway).

    One is for sure:
Apollo has GREAT potential and it will definitely get better eventually!

@janeCMD - What @TheTrader said. I'd also like to add a few things myself.

Tons of stuff gets uploaded i never heard off, almost nobody is downloading that.
That's totally subjective. There are millions of solo artists/formations around the world. You couldn't possibly know everything. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

Tactics which worked on WCD and Waffles dont work here. I downloaded only newest torrents less than minute of age and got download activity on one from 10 downloaded
Auto-snatching is kind of frowned upon there, with some exceptions. That may very well be the issue in your case.

The interface is very hard to navigate, is completely broken on mobile phone. Color scheme is just not good for orientation. I've seen much better attempts with gazelle.
If you're talking specifically about the mobile version, I agree. But keep in mind that the tracker's still an infant. Cut it some slack. It'll improve with time.

This tracker seems for me not designed for average music lover.
It's most likely not for the average music lover, yes. Then again the average music lover doesn't even know what lossless is.

My personal tips for ratio improvement:

    1. Fill requests.
    2. Upload free (or paid) music from Bandcamp in FLAC, then convert it to 320, V0, V2.

    Good luck.

Well... by 'average music lover' i ment somebody into music with average skills with computer / torrenting. Being knowledgable in music does not help much in torrenting.

The advices... well, exactly advice i was not looking for. I like to take part, by seeding, or by donating. But uploading anything is the last thing i want, even if the content is free domain. Requires lot of time and dedication which i unfortunately don't have.

I explicitly mentioned that my tips are personal. No one's forcing you to follow them. I just wanted to bring you a different kind of perspective on how to maintain a decent ratio on private music trackers. There are several ways to do that, and the two I indicated happen to be quite easy to execute. However, I can't fathom why you wouldn't engage in uploading. A lot of time and dedication? These communities are built on people sharing their private music libraries, which is not to say that you're obliged.. but still. Contribution is key. Actually, being familiar with audio formats/lingo will greatly strengthen your survivability in music trackers, it does help in torrenting. And by the way, just as an example - it takes no more than 3 minutes to download a free FLAC album from Bandcamp (or elsewhere), create a torrent file and start seeding it. It requires no skill whatsoever.

I agree with some of JaneCMDs points, its not a site that you can just use and not upload too, you have to upload to get by. Its not something I don't like though, I think it encourages participation but as time passes it will get harder and harder to find stuff to upload and then it will be really hard to snatch stuff and keep your ratio, right now there is a lot I have on my hard drive to upload. It helps that I don't listen to mainstream music. In fairness mainstream is available all over the place so you can get it other places, as far as I can see people would only use it if they have specific tastes in music and like I said that is me.

I can't understand people bashing PTH and then recommending IPT, I would much rather the PTH staff than IPT staff. I literally wouldn't use that site if there was no other tracker on the internet but I could just ignore PTH staff or have as little interaction as possible.

    Nice review!

I want to be a member of a tracker like this, but I am afraid of the ratio. Every tracker should follow nCore. They are ratioless and work well 😁
