My name is Aeretic. I was one of the high level staff members at UGC.

For the past couple of weeks, it has been clear to us internally that UGC was going downhill. We had staff come and go, and even the owners themselves were no longer interested in continuing UGC. We asked for permission to carry the torch, but (understandably) did not get the okay to keep using the name and domain.

As it appears that Conker finally pulled the plug on the servers, I simply want to come out and let you all know that this is not the end.

A part of the staff team is hard at work on a new project. We will not be UGC in name, but we will have some of the same hardworking staff (as well as some experienced people from different trackers). We're structuring our team and infrastructure to avoid some of the issues that UGC saw.

We hope to release some more info soon. For now, we would like to simply thank Conker and MasterChief for making UGC what it was.

The torrents UGC had (up to a few days ago) are still going to be available and we'll be using an improved version of the same code base. Anyone who was a member of UGC will be able to sign up on the new project without requiring an invite or interview.

Thanks to all of you who helped make UGC as a community, and thanks to the staff for all your hard work. We hope to welcome all of you into our new adventure soon.
