IRC Server Updates and Maintenance

Members of the Fleet & Antlers,
Nebulance Staff & Anthelion Staff will be performing some updates to our IRC Server next weekend, scheduled to take place between Friday Feb 28th, and Sunday Mar 2nd. These particular updates include both security and feature related updates to both the IRCD Service, and Anope IRC Services. We will also be updating the webchat client at this time. The only immediate change to users is we will be depreciating port 6667 and non-SSL clients entirely, but this should not affect any user that is using a some what recent client at all, however you will find that the settings of the Nebulon Server in your client will show that it is locked to TLS only. In the event that you are using a client older than our site's inception, you may want to look at updating to a new client now, or searching google for 'Does xxxxx IRC client support ssl?' Please note that again we do not actually anticipate this being an error for anyone.

The actual update is not scheduled for a specific day, but should only take a few hours to complete, and we will update this thread with when specifically it is happening and when it is complete. All existing user's nickserv passwords should also be retained, as we have backups of the db to migrate to the new installation.

No other settings or urls are anticipated to change at this time, just be aware that IRC *may* be inaccessible next weekend for a period of time.
