iAnon : News
Is everyone in irc?
Hey guys, i'd love to chat with you all!
The best way to contact myself or any staff directly is in IRC.
I have notifications on, so i'm usually pretty quick to respond myself if you @voaii in there
Hope to see you all soon?
Network settings:
IRC Server: irc.ianon.app
Unencrypted port: 6667
SSL Port: 6697
IMPORTANT
It is required to be connected to SSL port 6697, plus registered and identified with NickServ in order to join any member restricted channels.
IRC key
In order to join #ianon and the other restricted channels, you need to set an IRC key on your profile.
In your user settings, click (or scroll down) Access Settings. In the field labelled IRC key you can either enter your preferred IRC key, or click the "Generate IRC key" button. If you choose to generate an IRC key, a random 32 character IRC key will be generated for you. When you are done, click "Save profile".
DO NOT USE THE SAME PASSWORD AS WEBSITE OR NICKSERV HERE!
NickServ
After you have successfully connected to the IRC server on SSL port 6697, you need to register, or identify, with NickServ.
If you haven't registered with NickServ before, you can register your nick with the following command:
(You will have to do this only once)
/msg NickServ REGISTER <password> <e-mail address>
If you already have registered, you can identify with NickServ with the following command:
(You will have to do this every time you connect.)
/msg NickServ IDENTIFY <password>
DO NOT USE THE SAME PASSWORD AS WEBSITE OR IRCKEY HERE!
Instead of /msg NickServ you can also use the shorter command /ns.
Authenticating with anon
(Joining a restricted channel)
After registering or identifying with NickServ, you can authenticate with anon. anon is our bot that handles all authentication to join the restricted channels (See list of channels below). You use the following command to authenticate with anon:
/msg anon enter #channel1,#channel2,#channel3,#channel4 SITE_USERNAME IRC_KEY
For example, for user 'User' to join our main channel #ianon, the command would be:
/msg anon enter #ianon User MySecretIRCkey
