Hawke.uno : News
v 0.6.0
Today's update marks a major shift in the HUNO codebase with our jump to the latest stable Laravel release, which brings with it better scalability and a more robust platform to build on going forward.
As part of that upgrade, we've redesigned an entirely new and modern Forum experience for our HUNO community, also rolling out with today's update.
But that's not all, read on below for all changes, big and small.
Forums
Added Forums to HUNO.
Revamped the Unit3d Forums design.
Added support for Markdown formatting.
Backend
Upgraded codebase to Laravel 11.x
Upgraded to Livewire 3.x
Upgraded platform to PHP 8.4.x
Upgraded predis
Optimized and fine-tuned redis
Fixed load times on User's Upload Page
Fixed and optimized multiple issues with load times on the main Torrents List page.
Seed Categories
Seed count categories, namely, Vanguard, Squire, Knight, Champion, and Legend, now only take into account non-Free torrents for promotions and demotions.
If a user is the Uploader of a Free torrent, their upload will count towards the various seed categories as before.
This change only applies to the use of seed category counts for the monthly Promotion Event and to display seed counts in the top navigation bar.
For earning hunos, all seeded torrents from a user are considered in the calculation as before.
UI
Added COMMUNITY and REQUESTS as top level navigation menu links.
Adjusted sub-menu items to align better with the new top level navigation links.
Matrix
Trimmed down Matrix server channels with #bunker now the only general access encrypted room.
Moved all channels to one space within the Matrix server.
Discord
As part of out continuing segregation from the hawke-one Discord community, HUNO announces are now entirely disabled for Discord users.
The shoutbox and IRC server are now the only channels receiving HUNO announces.
API
Added support for mediainfo and description to be passed as files within an API upload request
Uploading
Some Upload rules have changed and the Upload Guide has been updated to reflect the following accordingly:
BluRay disc uploads must now include the three-letter region code in their name, if known.
DVD discs and remuxes must specify PAL or NTSC.
Hardsubs are now indicated with just Hardsubbed, rather than the language-specific Ensubbed, Frsubbed, etc.
Distributor information (e.g. Criterion, Shout Factory, etc.) is now explicitly included as an optional field.
The relative ordering of Distributor, Edition, and Hardsubs is now defined, rather than all three being part of edition with no defined order when multiple apply.
DUAL and MULTI are now specified in the guide, for uploads with dialog tracks covering two languages and three or more languages respectively.
Uploads without dialog are now specified to use NONE instead of the mishmash of options we had before.
Audio channels/formats now explicitly only count the base format, without matrixing or Atmos height channels.
HFR is now included in the guide, and should be set for any upload with an encoded framerate of more than 30fps.
Allowed video formats now include PQ10 (metadata-less HDR10) and SDR WCG (wide-color-gamut without HDR).
Allowed source formats now include 3D BluRay.
DVD discs now include the disc size in the title, e.g. DVD9 or 2xDVD5.
INCOMPLETE is now formally included in the guide.
