Nearly 130 domains will be blocked by Aussie telcos after the Federal Court's order, in a move aimed at curbing piracy in the country. Nicholas's judgement followed his ruling in December that ordered the blocking of high-profile online file-sharing websites Pirate Bay, Torrentz, and IsoHunt.

According to Brisbane Times, Village Roadshow, an Australian film studio backed by Warner Bros, Paramount, Universal, Disney and 21st Century Fox and local pay TV provider Foxtel have been waging a legal war against pirating websites in several court cases.

On Friday, Federal Court Justice John Nicholas ordered Aussie internet service providers (ISPs), including Telstra, Optus, TPG and Vocus, to block customer access to 57 worldwide websites such as The Pirate Bay, Putlocker and Yes Movies.

The move accompanies Federal Court orders in a separate proceeding, instituted by the film industry, blocking over 40 piracy websites. As ZDNet notes, some of the sites that are required to be blocked include Yes Movies, Vumoo, Los Movies, Cartoon HD, Putlocker, Watch Series 1, Watch Series 2, Project - Free TV, ProjectFreeTV, Watch Episodes, Watch Episode Series, Watch TV Series, The Dare TV, Putlocker9.is, Putlocker9.com, 1337x, and Torlock. The campaign is being led by industry body Creative Content Australia to raise awareness around the impact of piracy on producers.
