Welcoming New Staff

GGn has been experiencing significant growth each year. There are more uploads, groups, forum posts, and IRC lines performed daily. These achievements are all thanks to our fantastic users, but it can be challenging to manage this influx of new information. To that end, GGn has some wonderful news.

We are rolling out a new automated staff member. We have dubbed this automated staff member RuleBot. Not to worry, though. We have learned from our failings at last year's Artificial Intelligence fiasco and incorporated several key takeaways into our action plan. Using the amazing talents of our script artists, coding wizards, and programming ninjas, we have crafted our very own Automated Community Moderation Enforcement System.

RuleBot has been successful far beyond our initial expectations, and we are fast-tracking it for a site-wide rollout. Be aware that the programming of RuleBot is so advanced and accurate that it will be the final authority regarding all Community Moderation and other undisclosed areas. RuleBot will even punish staff, regardless of rank, should they perform their duties with irregularity.

Upon deployment, RuleBot noted several inadequacies in our item system. In particular, it was noticed that it is currently far too difficult for newer users to obtain old badges from many years ago. Accordingly, RuleBot has decided to improve availability of event badges from the past. That's right, badges from long ago that were once lost for all time, were too rare or too difficult to obtain are now easier than ever to obtain! So, please remember to collect those old bits and make some shiny new badges!

Finally, there have been some complaints about the lack of a daily box for the Birthday Event this year. We have heard your comments and taken them to heart. As a way of making amends for our oversight, we have decided to break from tradition and include an event box in honor of today's holiday! Please enjoy it promptly, as its contents will expire soon.
