For a couple days, Demonoid was being blacklisted by Google, and anyone trying to search for Demonoid received the warning message stating that "Visiting this web site may harm your computer." Users were reporting concern over logging into the site as a result of seeing the warning. Being that Demonoid just made a comeback at the end of March, there was major concern as to why the site was being blacklisted.

On the Demonoid site, the Demonoid team explained the reason for the temporary blacklist as this:

"Hello guys,

We run content from a lot of ad networks in our ad banners, and a lot of banners from each.

One of those banners started serving malware, so we disabled all ads until we are 100% sure of the culprit and get it removed. We are also taking the proper steps to get us out of all the blacklists.

Thanks for your understanding and sorry for the hassle."

While Demonoid was temporarily blacklisted by Google, it wasn’t for any other reason than banner ad malware and everything appears to be back to normal now.
