Share article snippets with Xcerpt
If an article you share on Twitter doesn't have an interesting title, your followers probably won't click it. And if you want to add a description or comment, you're confined to the 140-character limit to do so. Instead, why not add a snippet from the article itself?
In just a few steps, Xcerpt for Twitter can create a snippet image you can share in a tweet. These are an upgrade from a basic screenshot because you can include only the text you want, add a colored border to it, and even do some highlighting. Here's how:
- Download a copy of Xcerpt for Twitter for your Android 4.0+ device.
- Copy text from an article on the Web. (You can also choose to work with an existing screenshot in the app.)
- Open Xcerpt and tap the Paste text button. You will see your clipboard contents load in the box at the bottom of the screen.
- Choose a border color from the palette at the top. To highlight text, press and hold as if you're trying to copy, then press Done.
- Xcerpt will first need access to your Twitter account, and then you'll be able to add a comment about the snippet before posting it.
- So instead of trying to cram a thought about the article into the tweet, share a snippet image made by Xcerpt for Twitter.
