uTorrent is a great app, but it can be annoying to have ads on your desktop apps. Fortunately, these can be disabled in the Advanced settings.

To turn off ads and offers, open Options > Preferences > Advanced. Here you'll find a large list of flags for the app and a filter box. Search for and disable the following flags:

• offers.left_rail_offer_enabled/left_rail_offer
• gui.show_plus_upsell
• offers.sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled/sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled
• bt.enable_pulse
• gui.show_notorrents_node
• offers.content_offer_autoexec

These flags may be named slightly differently depending on which version of the app you're using. Be careful when editing things if you're not entirely sure what they do.

utorrent 1.8.1 and 2.2.1 most used versions but 2.2.1 have problem with https trackers, 1.8.1 dont have udp tracker support also udp tracker support is not important if you dont use public tracker. For utorrent a lot of tracker recommend 2.2.1 but first they recommend qbittorrent which is best right now according to almost every private tracker. so if you can, use qbittorrent if you dont want to and you want to use utorrent than use 2.2.1

ummmm I'm not so lucky with qbittorrent, tried using it for a while, but it doesn't go well with my internet (might be some sort of carrier thing), i changed to utorrent and even thought I'm unhappy about the ads everywhere, it works like a charm.

I'll give it a shot to other clients though.
