While the most Australian cricketing greats and cricket fans have condemned the actions of Steve Smith and the Leadership team after the ball tampering cheating scandal in South Africa, an unexpected person has gone in to bat for the boys ... Kyle Sandilands.

The controversial radio star, who has admitted frequently he doesn’t know nor care about sport, spoke about the controversy on air this morning saying: “Good on you! Win at any cost” before adding “Who gives a s**t?”

Speaking on his radio show on KIIS FM, Sandilands said: “Win at any cost. I’ve lived my whole life like that,” before his co-host Jackie O added: ‘Oh, but we don’t want to be seen as cheaters, do we?’

He then replied “I think we’re seen around the world as cheaters and larrikins anyway ... and drunks, drug addicts, the list goes on ...”

The comments come after it was revealed yesterday that Smith and his leadership group hatched a plan to tamper with the ball and batsman Cameron Bancroft was caught red handed doing during the third test against South Africa in Cape Town and vice-captain David Warner have since been stood down.

However Sandilands isn’t the only radio host supporting the team.

On Twitter, 2GB’s Ben Fordham also jumped in to support the troubled cricket team.

“We’ve been busted ball tampering and dead set the sky is falling in,” he wrote.

“I’m not prepared to hang these blokes for a crime that’s been committed a thousand times.

“Condemn them for being dopey cheats but don’t tell me they’ve given up their right to represent Australia.”
