A DRUNK passenger WEED on another travellers luggage during a flight, police say.

The American Airlines passenger was arrested by police in Charlotte, North Carolina, after the journey from Chicago on Thursday.

He is accused of urinating on a female passenger's hand luggage in mid-air.

American Airlines said that the suspect, who has not been named, was "intoxicated" during the flight.

The FBI were also notified of the shocking incident, according to the Charlottesville Observer.

It comes a month after an American Airlines flight from Manchester to Philadelphia was cancelled when a pilot was arrested on suspicion of being drunk.

An airline spokesman said at the time: "The employee was detained and the flight, AA735 to Philadelphia, has been cancelled.

They added: "We are fully cooperating with local law enforcement and further questions should be referred to them."

Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers attended and a 62-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of performing an aviation function when over the prescribed limit of alcohol."
