Which one should i go for ? and why?
@tioo, I've moved your post to a more suitable section.
I've been a happy qBittorrent user for a good while now. Not much experience with uTorrent to be honest, so I can't really advise you one way over another, except that qBittorrent is open source, which is a plus for me.
Check out this thread to see what other users are using :-)
qBittorrent. Open source. No ads. uTorrent has been crap for years, you need version 1.8.2 or 2.1 those were the last good versions.
Qbittorrent imo they got better peer connecting so upload/ download speed much higher than utorrent also utorrent is banned on some trackers because of data leaked or some other issue along with ads problem

I would say go with qbittorrent. It's opensource and has no ads. But on my machine, it can feel a bit bloated compared to utorrent.
Whatever you pick, you have the option of changing the client, so try one and see if you like it. Be sure to look at tracker's acceptable clients.
qBittorrent with no doubts. uTorrent was the best one for many years, but since it has been sold, it is more ads than usefull. Go with qBittorrent
I use Transmission on an QNAP NAS and it works fantastic
Both uTorrent and qBittorrent are popular BitTorrent clients that allow you to download and manage torrent files. Here are some factors to consider when choosing between the two:
User Interface: uTorrent has a simpler and more streamlined interface, which some users find more intuitive. qBittorrent offers a more feature-rich and customizable interface, but it may be overwhelming for beginners.
Resource Usage: qBittorrent is known for being lightweight and efficient, consuming fewer system resources compared to uTorrent. If you have limited system resources or older hardware, qBittorrent may be a better choice.
Advertisements: uTorrent has been criticized in the past for bundling adware and displaying advertisements within the client. qBittorrent is open-source and does not include any advertisements or potentially unwanted software.
Platform Compatibility: Both uTorrent and qBittorrent are available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. However, qBittorrent has broader platform support, including FreeBSD and OS/2.
Features: While both clients offer similar core features, qBittorrent provides additional functionality such as torrent search, RSS feed support, and an integrated torrent creator. If you require these extra features, qBittorrent might be the better choice.
Community and Support: qBittorrent has an active and supportive community, with regular updates and bug fixes. It also has an official forum for users to seek assistance and share information. uTorrent, on the other hand, has faced criticism regarding its support and community engagement.
Considering these factors, qBittorrent is generally recommended for most users. It is a reliable and feature-rich client with a clean interface, efficient resource usage, and an active community. However, if you prefer a simpler interface and have no issues with the adware and advertisements in uTorrent, you may choose it instead.
