Also, do they ban all of your invites as well? If so, I would feel kind of bad. There were already some people invited by the account that I got, and if they kick me then they might kick them as well. One was a complete leech, but there was at least one that was clearly working hard to keep up a very good rating. I'm feeling a bit bummed now due to my noobishness. Do you think they auto ban all of the accounts invites as well?
Let this be a lesson to all you co-noobs...read all these helpful threads before you buy.
You have to tell me which account do you change the details too before i can try to give a better unswear, for some the bann is instant and for some others usually a less then a day and for others longer, it all depends, so you will just have to wait, and usually they do not ban the people you have invited
I think HDBits and SceneHD will both boot on a country IP change. Also some sites like HDBits and TL and others will allow you to change things like password/email so long as your country IP does not change. So, the country IP seems to be a pretty big factor in things.
This is to say that your list may contain items that work because those people had same country IP, but others may not have worked because they had different country IP. So the first thing you want to know for each of these is whether the country IP changed or not. Then the question becomes "Can you change the Email or Password or both?". So your questions should be:
1. Did your country IP change when you got the new account?
2. Were you able to change your Email or Password or Both?
3. When you made the password change (if you did) did you do it in the Account Info screen or on the "Forgot Password" link on the login screen?
So, you might do something like the following:
Tracker, CountryIP, Email, Password, Result
HDBits, Yes, N/A, N/A, Banned
HDBits, No, No, No, Good
HDBits, No, Yes, No, Good

Of course, who is going to risk making any changes to HDBits even if people tell you it is OK. At least not until you wait for a good long time and only change one thing at a time.
Now this is probably not enough detail. Like sometimes you cannot change the password directly in the Account Info screen, but you can change it on the Login screen by clicking the "Forgot Password" link. So, maybe you need to include that (maybe an include an "A" or "L" after the "Yes" in the Password column). Or maybe just have a new column (two columns for password....a "Password A" and a "Password L" column).
In any case, if you cover all bases like this then over time people can tell you what happens in each instance. Then you will have a pretty neat chart.
But even then I don't think you can maintain such a chart. Spy's will dump bad info on you and that will make its way onto the chart. So, maybe only accept info from reputable site contributors (or better yet, make it so that only sellers can change list items since they get immediate feedback from people that they sell to).
But then again, maybe this is not stuff sellers want to share. I mean, its a part of what it means to be an experienced seller. Though in this case, it might help this site to avoid conflicts due to inexperienced sellers selling accounts that are destined to be banned. Plus even an experienced seller can't know how ALL the trackers react to such things. So, they might be willing to contribute such info.
But get the chart columns down first, so that it represents all cases needed. Sorry for the long post.
I couldn't figure it out, but is there some way to do tables in this forum? I mean, I noticed the HTML tags, but that didn't seem to do anything. I was going to put the above in an HTML table so that it looked nice, but I couldn't find out how. Also, I couldn't space over making columns because the forum removes multiple spaces. So, I just gave you the table in that silly comma deliminator list thing.
That does seem like a great idea PoeJay, the only thing would be that it would be a lot of work and it would be hard to find all the exact necessary infos
Yea, but that was why I thought it could be something that the sellers could do. I mean, it is easy enough to put together all of the possible combination. Then all a seller would need to do is tell you "Banned" or "Good" for any that he/she runs into with their clients. Eventually the list would be pretty full.
Also, I would be willing to bet that a lot of trackers (Level 1, maybe Level 2) don't even monitor this information to any great degree (though I am new to this so i don't really know), and even if they did, who really cares all that much since it is easy enough to get another invite/account from those sites. So, there is really just a small subset of sites that people want to know about. So, that might reduce the list to a more manageable number of trackers.
It would be nice if this (and some of the other threads info...like the one on Levels/Ratings) could be integrated into the Torrentinvites site. Then you could have a neat front end for sellers to modify the data directly (and a neat front end for other users to view the data). At the very least these types of tables would bring you some addition web traffic. Which is another incentive for sellers to contribute. I mean, it is not that difficult to put together a simple web table. It doesn't have to be super fancy or anything. And the DB site would be pretty easy too, just a single table (though I would probably have a table with Tracker info in it and then have separate tables with the data in it for each of the datasets you are keeping track of, that is, what stuff you are currently tracking in your forum threads, like Level/Rating and Banning info). Just thinking out loud here.
In any case, once you have the data you can then figure out some nice way to let people view it (and a nice way to keep it up to date). So, it isn't necessary to have all the bells and whistles right away. Getting a good set of reliable data is probably the first step. Again, maybe I'm going overboard here, but just thought I would mention it.
I am with you on this one. That is a great idea. This info it only need to be assembled one and then is good forever in a way. The thing is that i do not have the time or the resources to do something like that, also very few people would come here and share their experience, especially after it was a good experience, they would just od their deal and be done with it, again for this to be done perfect someone has to have some time int heir hand to set up everything and once it is setup it can work itself with the help of people
Yea, I'm a bit busy myself lately. I have three projects I am currently working on, but maybe I can spare a little time. The problem is that I can't put anything up for testing without people being able to find out who I am (through my current development websites). I'll have to figure out how I might put up a more anonymous website for testing.
Still, I would be surprised if vBulletin doesn't already have some plug-in that lets you set up tables or some such. If they already have a plug-in then that would be the way to go. You just need to add it to the website and then allow select sellers to modify it over time. So, that would probably be the first place to look.
OK an alternative is work on a excel table and then just do a screenshot of it and upload it here as an image and if people put suggestions then just edit the excel page and take an other screenshot
If we can get the TorrentInvites people to install a plug-in then we could get tables within the form page. There are probably a number of pretty cool table plug-ins. I did a quick search for something on the vBulletin forums and found this:

It basically gives you BB code type tables. You can sort them by column (ascending/descending) and you can change the look to pretty much whatever you can get creative with (though a bit of CSS modification and the tables could look even neater).
Mind you, this is just the first thing I came across. There might be better table plug-ins. What I was really looking for was not a forum plug-in, but a site page plug-in. For instance, they offer calendars, photo albums, and bunches of other site page plug-ins, I was hoping to find something like that. That way the data would likely be stored in the vBulletin DB...and it could be a stand alone page that subscribers could view, but only sellers could change. I still think there is something like that already available, but I didn't have enough time to look for it tonight.
So, the next best solution is to just get a table that you can embed into a forum thread. But again, there are probably a number of these types of plug-ins for vBulletin. I just posted the first thing I found above.

But I think it is just a table plug-in into their forum (not vBulletin, so nothing we can use here). And they probably locked the thread and allow it to be modified by one person. Then they could put the link to that thread anywhere they want (so it could look like a page plug-in even though it is a forum plug-in). We could do the same with the BB code table plug-in (though to get it looking that nice it might require some CSS modifications, maybe). But we would need the TorrentInvites people to add the plug-in (or find something better).
also do yo uknow of a work around for these trackers that can be sold as account, even if it means just selling it and you cant change anything, but just because ip change it should still be fine

I'm not sure I understand. The problem that Trackers have with banning on IP change is that IP's change all the time. The only time an IP doesn't change is when someone has a dedicated IP. Though, its just a matter of paying more money to your ISP to get a dedicated IP, who would do that? Those that use Torrents want there IP to change, it adds a bit to the anonymity. Moreover, the ultimate goal is to use a nice VPN, making themselves nearly completely anonymous (except to the VPN provider...but that's what they get paid for). But the problem with a VPN is not just that the IP changes, but that you pay to get VPN access from different places all over the World (U.S., Amsterdam, China, you name it). So, it is nice to be able to pick, on any given day, which country you want to appear to be from this day.
Well, banning on IP changes kinda puts a wrench in the works. But that is a pretty big wrench to be tossing in. I mean, its almost like trying to make users use their real names, addresses, and even give the Tracker a SS# or given the new EU Dictatorship that's a commin, a Euro ID Number (soon to be tattooed to the foreheads of every European...might it be 666...keep up the good fight, comrades). Well, maybe not that intrusive, but still, pretty intrusive.
So, I don't think that trackers can strictly ban on IP change alone (with the possible exception of a Country IP change). It would have to be a factor of things (IP change and additional changes to your account settings...like email/password/etc).
Mind you, some of the trackers will ban on a Country IP change (a few of them at least). Which means that I am stuck in the U.S. with my VPN. That doesn't mean all of the trackers do that. So, if I understand your question correctly I would say that it is pretty safe to buy a tracker account whose previous owner had an IP in the same country as you (provided you change nothing). And it is just a little less safe to buy a tracker whose previous owner had an IP in a different country than you (again, only because a small number of trackers ban on Country IP change). The bigger issues are with the email/password changes.
I think that, in this thread, sallomsalcice is just trying to answer the question, "can you change your email and/or password and/or other settings on different trackers". If you are not going to change anything then it is likely that you are not going to need this thread (with the possible exception of the Country IP change thingy...you might want to know if you need to be searching for accounts from the same country or not). If you are not going to change anything then either your account will work or it won't work, but there would not have been anything you could have done to change that (other than, again, the issue of the Country IP change...if that veered its ugly head).
By the way, there are other things that Trackers do to figure out if you might be a "bad seed", so to speak. Like your visits to this site or others leave traces in your "temporary internet files" and your cookies. So, sometimes you might get banned because you accidentally visited one of these sites on the same machine that you use to log into the tracker sites.
This should be information that gets onto the table as well. It would be nice to know which trackers use those tactics. Though I think it is probably easier just to tell people not to log into tracker sites on the same computer as they use to log into sites like TorrentInvites. Just good common sense, best applied always instead of selectively.

Lets see...what are the factors involved that you have not told us. Keep in mind giving us any information could also give a spy information that might help them determine who you are. Like if you said, "I just bought a tracerout account yesterday and I have a good ratio (10.13) and I changed my password yesterday, but I want to know if I can change my email address today?" That would probably be bad for you. Cause that might be plenty of information for them to determine who you are. Not that this is a huge risk, but given enough info it might be very easy to figure out who you are (on their site). This is why I was thinking that a more comprehensive table would just allow people to look up the risk level of changing things, rather than asking. Still, what are the factors involved.
1. When you bought the account...did your Country IP change (between what it was and what you are using)? You are not nessassarilly going to know this. But you will likely get an account where someone listed themselves as being from France or something. And if you are from the U.S. or something...then it is likely that your country IP changed. Also, keep in mind that whoever you bought this from may have also logged in and thus their IP is likely also involved.
2. How long have you been using your current IP with the account? If you have been using this account for weeks with the same IP then it is probably more likely that changes to your profile will go unnoticed. Even if your IP is changing (because you ISP changes it now and then...or because you are using a VPN or portal of some sorts) so long as the IP is generally in the same area of the World (like if it is always from Amsterdam) then that is a plus as well (not so much as it staying the same...but better then if it jumped from Los Angeles to Amsterdam). Basically, the rule of thumb is wait....wait....wait...and then change one thing (password maybe)....then...wait....wait...wait...then change another thing or two (email maybe), etc...
3. How long has it been since the last password change (or last email change)? Again, this is similar to 2 above. Basically it is good to wait between changing things. Keep in mind that the person you bought the account from will likely have changed things in the account prior to selling it to you. So, you should probably assume that both the username and password have changed on the day you bought the account. Thus changing them immediately is higher risk. Eventually a nice table on this website could tell you when that is OK and when it is not OK, but if you are not sure for any particularly Tracker, then the rule of thumb would be to not change them right away. Wait...wait...wait. Try to keep the same IP while you are waiting. Wait for a week...two weeks...more depending on how hard it was to get this account....then change one thing....then wait again. Wait some more. Then maybe change something else. And do that until everything you want to change is nicely changed.
4. Do you connect to this website (or any site like it) using the same IP that you connect to your trackers with? Now, I am assuming that you are not using the same computer to connect to these websites. If you are then that is a big, huge, problem. You definitely will get into trouble if you use the same computer. But you might also get into trouble if you using a different computer, but with the same IP. Most of you are probably doing this. And there really isn't much you can do to get around it. But if you are doing this, then you need to be careful with external links (for example):
Of course, it won't be as obvious as this (and of course, you shouldn't click on such things). Worse yet, any forum post that has an image (including Avatars and banners) could be giving access to your IP to someone else. If that someone else is a spy then that IP could go on a blacklist for the Tracker site and next time you log in to your tracker then you are banned. This is why I really would like to see TorrentInvites limit the use of embedded images, avatars, banners, and even external links, much more than they currently do. For instance, we should never have a thread like that "100 Numbers" thread. It seems to me that that is clearly a thread for spys to post images to track peoples IP's. Anyway, the cardinal rule is "wait". And of course, the lesser rules are also "wait"...and "wait some more". Unless you have a list somewhere that tells you it is OK to change the username and/or password right away. Then all you can do is fallow the cardinal rule (and its lesser buddies). Change things slowly over time and then you will have a better chance of not getting banned.

Well..it all depends on which tracker you are trading, for example for some you can change both just after you got it and nothing will happen (like TT or SCC if I'm right), for others you can never change them or you will get banned( that's why for some you should trade them only with email)...So there is no final answer to your question, if you were referring to some tracker particularly maybe we can give you some more precise infoQuote:
