Does no one else find all this a tiny bit odd?

Demoniod was seized by the Feds but yet someone is actually stupid enough to restore the site from a backup taken before the site was seized, there's guys facing real jail time from the original site and I find the whole scenario really strange. If someone had this backup why not launch another tracker instead of painting a bullseye on themselves and getting unnessacary attention.

They claim their servers are hosted in Hong Kong but there really hosted in Germany and their domain is registered with godaddy in the USA of all places: )

I smell a rat here and think this is maybe an attempt by the USA to monitor bittorent traffic in a new and twisted way!!

What do the rest of you guys think about the situation?

yeah mate it's a bit weird and looks suspicious

its very suspicious, but even if this is real i never used demonoid, i think i downloaded 2 or 3 movies from there years ago, moved to private trackers for some time and ipt and tl are enough for me for what i need.

The admins who nothing to do with the new site..who where arrested and the Servers and Databse where taken..How did these users of this new site get hold of the database..users using it are mad and shocked to see invites been offerd and users takeing them..

Someone may have taken a backup?

Not like they needed to copy all the files - just the templates for the website itself?

I had an account on the old site but will never log into this new site, too many things just don't seem right.
The only way to get such info is from a backup of the server, I would love to know of anyone that signed up to Demoniod the day it was taken down, if this person also got a mail from the new Demoniod then this would be a giveaway something is not right I think

i just recovered my old account via mail , so they have a real backup , but can be also stolen

It's definitely the real backup, this is not the case.
My point is no one is stupid enough to link themselves to Demoiod in any way, they could have easily started a new tracker and done a mass email to everyone in its data base. And anyone who is stupid enough to call themselves D2 (Demoniod 2) I will never activate my old account with, they will be made an example of by authorities and a lot of its users will also suffer.

That's if it really is a tracker
