Bangladesh batter Soumya Sarkar has been ruled out from the last T20I game of the three-match series against West Indies due to finger injury.
Sarkar injured his right index finger while attempting a catch in the seventh over of the West Indies innings and did not take any further part in the match.
Bangladesh clinched the series with one game in hand after winning the second T20I by 27 runs at St. Vincent on Wednesday following their seven-run win in the opening game.
The southpaw is expected to miss couple of games in the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League, scheduled to start from December 30.
Sarkar suffered a finger injury during the second T20 International against the West Indies in St. Vincent today, which may keep him out of action for around three weeks, Bangladesh Cricket Board said in a statement.
"Soumya sustained a cut injury on his right index finger while fielding, which required five stitches. An X-ray was conducted after the match, revealing a subluxation in the affected area. His recovery may take about three to four weeks." national team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan was quoted in the statement.
