After washing out the entirety of Day 1, rain threat loomed large on Day 2 at the Gabba too. But it relented in a bit and a delayed start was possible to get Queensland and South Australia going in their Sheffield Shield fixture.

It took just 13 overs for South Australia to make the first incision after opting to bowl but Matt Renshaw carried Queensland with two solid partnerships - worth 67 with Bryce Street and 50 with Jack Clayton.

Renshaw got to a fifty of his own too, before being trapped leg before by Brendan Doggett. Doggett picked another wicket in a jiffy to rock Queensland a little towards the end of the day's play. Queensland went to stumps at 154 for 4, with Jack Clayton batting on 31.

Brief Scores: Queensland 158/4 (Matt Renshaw 63, Bryce Street 43; Liam Scott 2-37, Brendan Doggett 2-45) vs South Australia.
