Poco F1 Android 10 update re-released along with February security patch
Original story (published on March 04, 2020) follows:
Xiaomi started rolling out the stable Pocophone F1 or rather Poco F1 Android 10 update in mid-January 2020, but it was limited to select users.
The wider rollout had to wait for about two weeks before rolling out, arriving in early February 2020 as MIUI 11.0.4.0.QEJMIXM, tagging along an updated security patch level alongside bug fixes and enhancements.
The Pocophone F1 Android 10 update arrived after weeks of waiting following the release of the stable MIUI 11 update in late October 2019. But even so, the wider rollout didn’t last long.
After two or so weeks of waiting in vain, Pocophone F1 owners started raising concerns on social media regarding the availability of the OS. The company assured the masses that the rollout was staged but shortly after it emerged that the process had actually been halted.
Poco promised to resume rolling out the update once the unmentioned bugs are addressed. And from the latest developments, it appears that indeed, the patched-up Poco F1 Android 10 update is now available to download.
Arriving as MIUI 11.0.6.0.QEJMIXM, the update also bumps the security patch level to February 2020. Those who had installed the buggy Android 10 firmware released a few weeks ago should get an OTA file weighing in at 375MB while those coming from Pie have a file size of 1.9GB to download.
We still haven’t bumped into the download link for the latest firmware, but we will update this story once we get it. This should enable those who like doing things manually have their way as well.
If you don’t like Poco’s MIUI customizations, feel free to try LineageOS 17.1 based on Android 10 as well. However, you may miss out on the gaming-related performance optimizations of PUBG and other games that are bundled in the latest MIUI build.
Update (March 05, 2020)
The official announcement post for the latest Pocophone F1 Android 10 update is now live in the Mi Community forums. The company notes that the current rollout is limited to Mi Pilot testers, which should explain why your unit hasn’t received it.
If no major bugs are discovered, the wider rollout will kick-off probably after a few days.
