For those of you fellow Ti members with an Apple TV, some good news. You can now get Plex running on an AppleTV 2 or 3 without a jailbreak. I have posted the links to the tutorials below for both Mac and Windows users. It took me about 2-3 minutes to setup and did require a little 'terminal.app' use but not much, just basically cutting/pasting 1-2 lines of code and your done. The way the hack works is basically by disguising itself or tricking the AppleTV into believing the Plex server running on your machine is the apple-trailer app. So as soon as you open the Apple trailer app, PLEX appears with all its fanciness ready to be used. That was my ideal setup, I was kicking myself for not investing in an AppleTV2 for $99 when they were around. I thought other things might come along that would work better. I'm using a jailbroken 4S myself, but have an old iPhone4 that i use solely as a remote for the family. Most of the movies from my Plex library were streamed over Airplay thru the ATV3 i foolishly thought would be jailbroken in a matter of months. I don't have a surround sound system hooked up yet, so i'm curious about 5.1 sound and does it work with plex/xbmc on the ATV2? Maybe you can answer that for me post. BTW missed you man lol
