BlackBerry KEY2 is free with a signed two-year contract at Canada's big three carrier
Canada's big three wireless providers, Bell, Rogers and Telus, all are taking $200 Canadian Dollars off of the BlackBerry KEY2. It is important to understand that unlike its neighbors to the south, Canadian carriers still sell handsets on a subsidized basis. That means Canadian consumers will be paying $0 for the 64GB KEY2, but in return they will have to ink a contract that locks them into the carrier they select for two years. Normally, the carriers charge $200 for the KEY2 with the subsidized pricing.
The deals being offered in Canada for the BlackBerry KEY2 include:
- Rogers -$0 with a signed two-year contract priced at $95/month and up.
- Bell -$0 with a signed two-year contract priced at $80/month and up.
- TELUS -$0 with a signed two-year contract priced at $1155/month and up.
In the U.S., the phone is available from Best Buy and Amazon, priced at $649.99 USD. It is a GSM phone, which means that it is compatible with the AT&T and T-Mobile networks. If you live in the U.S. and want to save more than $200 USD on a phone similar to the KEY2, later this month BlackBerry will launch the KEY2 LE. With a smaller capacity battery, a less powerful chipset, and 33% less RAM, the KEY2 LE will be priced at $399 USD for the version with 32GB of native storage. For $50 more ($449 USD), the KEY2 LE will be offered with 64GB of internal storage.
