LG is one of the not so many companies that are still bringing new tablets to the market. Although LG's tablets are mainly targeting the mid-range segment, they seem to be a source of profit for the South Korean company.

We can't think of another reason that would make LG continue to launch tablets in a market dominated by Apple and Samsung if it wouldn't bring some profit to the company. But it looks like LG to be more than just the third wheel, as shown in a recent patent filed at KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) that's been approved and published on December 14.


Spotted by the folks over at LetsGoDigital, the patent shows a bezel-less tablet featuring what appears to be a detachable wireless keyboard. The slate also includes a cover that can be used as a cradle after it's unfolded.

The wireless keyboard and the bezel-less tablet are shown in two different design patents, but they're likely to be part of a bundle. More importantly, this doesn't look like an average LG tablet, but more of a premium product that's meant to compete against Apple and Samsung top-tier slates.
