The visuals for the 'Now Now' track see the cartoon version of the band in full flow

Gorillaz have shared their new clip for ‘Tranz’, which depicts the cartoon version of the band’s first-ever ‘live performance’ music video. Check it out below.

The track in question features on the Damon Albarn-led band’s sixth studio album ‘The Now Now’, which was released back in June. ‘Tranz’ is the sixth song to be released off the record as a single.

For the video for ‘Tranz’, Gorillaz have made their first-ever ‘performance’ video starring the virtual iteration of the band – which comprises of the characters Russel, 2-D, Noodle and Murdoc stand-in, Ace – playing together. The four characters are seen in the clip performing ‘Tranz’, with moments of hand-held animation and claymation also thrown into the mix.

Directed by Gorillaz co-founder Jamie Hewlett and Nicos Livesey – with assistance from Blinkink and the Paris-based creative production team Eddy – you can see the finished product below.

Meanwhile, Damon Albarn has already began formulating ideas for the next Gorillaz project. The musician revealed the plans in an interview late last month, musing about the potential new music: “If I get the time, or if anyone wants it, it’s there.”
