Many think the music released will feature on upcoming horror movie 'Suspiria'

Radiohead‘s Thom Yorke has teased more new music after releasing a snippet of a piano-based song on social media earlier today – including a new Instagram account.

Many are speculating that the music will feature on Suspiria, a remake of a 1977 cult horror movie that Yorke has written the score to, although no official comment about the music has yet been released.

Earlier this month, a new full-length trailer for the horror movie surfaced online and featured new music from Yorke. Back in June, a teaser trailer was released which featured Yorke’s eerie and anxious score against a series of disturbing images that included a levitating possessed girl, blood and maggots.

Yorke also shared the clip on Instagram, his first post on the social media site. Within the first four hours, Yorke had already amassed 22K followers.

Recently speaking about the experience of scoring his first feature film, Yorke said the experience was “absolutely terrifying.” In the interview with BBC 6 Music, he also revealed more about where the inspiration for the project came from.

“Normally [scoring] a horror movie involves orchestras, these specific things…But Luca, the director, and Walter, the editor, are very much, like, find your own path with it…I just have to find a way into it.”

The Radiohead frontman revealed that he watched sci-fi classic Bladerunner twice to help inspire him.

The director of Suspiria, Luca Guadgnino, previously spoke about Yorke’s involvement with the project: “Thom’s art transcends the contemporary. To have the privilege of his music and sound for Suspiria is a dream come true.”

“The depth of his creation and artistic vision is so unique that our Suspiria will sound groundbreaking and will deeply resonate with viewers. Our goal is to make a movie that will be a disturbing and transforming experience: for this ambition, we could not find a better partner than Thom.”

Yorke’s bandmate Jonny Greenwood has scored a number of movies, most notably on Paul Thomas Anderson’s movies There Will Be Blood, The Master and Inherent Vice. Greenwood most recently scored the Lynne Ramsay film You Were Never Really Here starring Joaquin Phoenix.
