Steely Dan's surprise Coachella performance this spring will not be a one-off. The long-running jazz-rock group, led by original members vocalist-keyboardist Donald Fagan and guitarist Walter Becker, has booked a number of concerts around the festival appearance and a full U.S. summer run dubbed the Rockabye Gollie Angel Tour. The group is promising set lists drawing from its entire, four-decade career. Elvis Costello and the Imposters will serve as the opening act for most of the dates.

The summer tour dates, which follows an eight-date April run, will kick off at Morrison, Colorado's Red Rocks on July 6th, when Costello joins the tour. The British singer-songwriter will play every subsequent date with the exception of Steely Dan's two-night engagement at Highland Park, Illinois' Ravinia Festival.

Steely Dan last put out a new album, Everything Must Go, in 2003. In 2013, Rolling Stone asked Becker whether the band, which won the Album of the Year Grammy in 2001 for Two Against Nature, had any interest in writing new music. "We're not reluctant to make new music," he said. "It's a whole other type of process that starts off more like, 'What do I want to do now?' or 'What does it seem like I'm doing now as I look at myself and see what really interests me?' To be reluctant and to confront our adolescent output, it may be somewhat daunting, but that's not the way I feel about it."
