It'll be the singer's first record since 2016's 'Anti'

Rihanna’s vocal producer has given an update about her forthcoming album.

Kuk Harrell, who worked with her on ‘Anti’ and also co-wrote her hits ‘Umbrella’ and ‘Only Girl (In the World)’, said her new record is “incredible”.

As lol reports, Harrell answered some questions from Rihanna’s fans on Instagram, including one fan who asked: “How’s R9?”

The producer responded: “R9 is great. R9 is amazing. It’s incredible, And that’s all I’m going to say.”

Previous reports heard a source reveal that Rihanna wasn’t happy with how ‘Anti’, her last record, performed.

“Even though she loved how it turned out, she knows she needs a new project full of smash hits to avoid two back-to-back flops,” the source previously stated.

“She’s currently recording two albums – one full of chart-friendly songs, and another made up of moody and experimental tracks – and is considering releasing a double disc if she feels the songs won’t mesh well on the same album.”

Last month, it was revealed that Riri and Donald Glover co-star in a new film called Guava Island.

The film trailer was shown at Glover’s PHAROS festival in New Zealand on November 24.

In the video, Rihanna, who stars as Glover’s girlfriend, walks into a room while he’s playing guitar. She says: “Practice is perfection.” Later, amid clips of street carnivals and other colourful montages, Glover says: “We live in paradise but none of us actually have the time or the means to live here.”
