Director Paul Thomas Anderson has a special relationship with Radiohead. He let guitarist Jonny Greenwood carry the score of his 2007 classic There Will Be Blood, and the two teamed again for 2012's The Master. This December's Inherent Vice, an adaptation of Thomas Pynchon's novel, will feature the third Greenwood/PTA original score sandwich.

But Radiohead proper -- not just Greenwood -- is involved this time, as well. According to Slate, who just saw Inherent Vice at the New York Film Festival, a never-released Radiohead track plays at some point during the film.

Inherent Vice's credits reveal the song as "Spooks." Radiohead aficionados may recalls "Spooks" as "an instrumental song that the band played in the run-up to In Rainbows in 2006," as Slate writes. They add that "its surf-rock guitar makes it a good fit for the 1970-set Inherent Vice, which includes a surf-rock saxophonist (played by Owen Wilson) as a main character."

Check out an old live clip of "Spooks" below (nice quality, you can really pick up that hard-rocking surf vibe), and scope out the Inherent Vice trailer below that.
