The rapper was found dead in his home on September 7

Mac Miller‘s cause of death has been revealed after an autopsy was undertaken by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

The rapper was found dead in his San Fernando Valley home on September 7. He was 26 years old.

According to the coroner’s office, Miller died from “mixed drug toxicity”, with fentanyl, cocaine, and alcohol found in his system at the time of his death. They have certified his death as an accidental overdose.

The autopsy was completed three days after Miller died and was released to his family, Los Angeles County coroner’s spokesperson Sarah Ardalani said.

Last week (October 31), a tribute concert held in the rapper’s memory took place at LA’s Greek Theatre. Chance The Rapper, Travis Scott, SZA, and more honoured the star at the Mac Miller: A Celebration Of Life show, where an all-star line-up performed their own music as well as versions of some of Miller’s best tracks.

The event also marked the launch of the Mac Miller Circles Fund, which aims to provide “programming, resources, and opportunities to youth from underserved communities.”

Meanwhile, a recently resurfaced video showed the late rapper freestyling at the age of 18, before he found global fame.

Miller released five albums in his career, including August’s ‘Swimming’. In a four-star review, NME called it his “best work in years”, saying: “This album shows his growth as both an artist, and as a person who’s had to deal with the most private aspects of their life being publicly dissected. It’s a stellar – if somewhat overlong – artistic statement.”
