Lou Gramm and Mick Jones plan collaboration
Foreigner's Mick Jones and Lou Gramm may be working together again soon.
Last year, Mick Jones and Lou Gramm were inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame even though they hadn't actually written together in years. The legacy of their music for Foreigner was enough to be voted the honor.
In an interview with Ultimate Classic Rock, Jones has said that they plan on writing together again soon.
Well, first of all, we want to delve back into some of the ideas that we both knew we had. Then there's this little trove of goodies that Lou's got that I haven't heard. So we'll start basically just messing around with those ideas and maybe that will inspire us into something new. You know, you never know. I think we're both going into it quite openly, just let it come naturally and we have no specific plans to do anything more than that at the moment. But it will be fun and it will be a great way of us reestablishing more contact with each other, so I'm very happy about that.
Where any of the music goes is not known at this time. Word is that both Jones and Gramm are considering separate solo projects and 2016 is the official 40th anniversary of the band, there are a lot of ways the new music could go.
Lou Gramm fronted Foreigner during their most popular years from 1976 to 1900, leaving to record a solo project and returning in 1992. He stayed with the band until 2003 but left in what Jones said was a failure in communications. He and Jones had not worked together again until the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony last year.
