The benefit concert will help raise funds to rebuild Malibu, LA and the surrounding community after the Woolsey Fire

Katy Perry, Foo Fighters‘ Taylor Hawkins and Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ Chad Smith are among the big names who are set to perform at the One Love Malibu Festival next month to help raise funds for those affected by the Woolsey Fire in southern California.

Majors areas of the west coast state has been devastated by a series of wildfires this month. The larger Camp Fire in the north of the state has so far killed 83 people and caused billions of dollars’ worth of damage, while the Woolsey Fire has affected areas in Los Angeles, killing three and destroying hundreds of properties.

A benefit concert by the name of One Love Malibu Festival has now been organised to help raise funds for those who have been affected by the Woolsey Fire. Set to take place at the One Gun Ranch on December 2, the likes of Perry, Hawkins and Smith will all perform on the night.

The original bill for the event (which you can see above) claimed that Coldplay‘s Chris Martin was due to perform at the festival. However, a statement issued on the band’s social media feeds this evening (November 22) affirmed that Martin will not be performing at the event as he will be in Johannesburg, South Africa playing at the Global Citizen Festival.

Other acts who are currently slated to play at the festival include Gwen Stefani, Macy Gray and Natasha Bedingfield. Tickets are on sale now, and all proceeds will go to the Malibu Foundation and One Love Malibu relief organisations.

A number of musicians were caught up in the Woolsey Fire, with the likes of Neil Young, Rod Stewart and Katy Perry all condemning President Donald Trump’s initial response to the California wildfires.
