Imagine Dragons’ video for ‘Radioactive’ has hit 1 billion views on YouTube
The song was initially released way back in 2012
Imagine Dragons‘ video for their hit song ‘Radioactive’ has now surpassed one billion views on YouTube.
Initially released back in October 2012, the track – which featured on their debut album ‘Night Visions’ – became a sleeper hit as it surged to popularity the following year. Although the track only reached number 12 in the UK singles chart, it hit the heights of number three on the US Billboard Chart in 2013.
The video for ‘Radioactive’, which you can see below, has this week reached the giddy heights of accumulating over one billion views on YouTube. The clip, which features members of Imagine Dragons imprisoned behind bars, depicts a sinister fighting ring for cuddly toys.
The success of the video for ‘Radioactive’ has seen it become Imagine Dragons’ second-ever music video to hit one billion views after their clip for ‘Thunder’ surpassed the milestone back in December 2018.
The band’s most recent album, ‘Origins’, was released last year, becoming their fourth studio album.
Imagine Dragons were recently praised by Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin following a live show – but the politician wasn’t impressed by their on-stage guest Lil Wayne, who joined the band for a new version of their song ‘Believer’.
“Way to ruin an entertaining [Imagine Dragons] half-time concert with the weird rantings of a tired, has-been like [Lil Wayne],” Bevin tweeted. The rapper did not respond to the jibe.
