They performed at a New Year's Eve Ozzfest event
Marilyn Manson, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx and Rob Zombie teamed up to cover The Beatles‘ ‘Helter Skelter’.
The performance took place at a New Year’s Eve Ozzfest event, hosted by Ozzy Osbourne at The Forum in Los Angeles.
The cover was officially released last July by Manson and Zombie who described their version as “heavier, weirder and more groove-oriented.” You can watch the performance below.
Speaking about their decision to cover the song last summer, Zombie said: “We had been talking about doing something together for these shows — that he should come onstage during my set and we’d do a song. But we couldn’t think of what song. After we talked, later that night I was home and I just thought, ‘The obvious song is ‘Helter Skelter’!’ It’s so obvious that neither one of us thought of it!
“And then I figured, well, rather than us just doing it onstage, why don’t we take it one step further and record it and put a new spin on it? That way, rather than just doing some impromptu jam together, now the fans will go, ‘Oh, there’s the song I’ve already heard, and now they’re doing it.’”
Meanwhile, Paul McCartney as shared a new song titled ‘Get Enough’, which sees the former Beatle use Auto-Tune effects on his voice.
The song comes after the release of his latest solo album ‘Egypt Station‘. His 17th full-length record was released in September and included the single ‘Fuh You’.
‘Get Enough’ was co-produced by OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder and Zach Skelton, who also worked on ‘Fuh You’ with McCartney.
