Former Deerhunter bassist Josh Fauver has died, aged 39

Former Deerhunter bassist Josh Fauver has died, it has been confirmed.
No official cause of death has been given at present. Fauver was 39 years old.
The musician joined the Atlanta band in 2004 and appeared on their debut album, which was released the following year. He went on to play on four of the band’s LPs in total, ending with 2010’s ‘Halcyon Digest’, as well as the EPs ‘Fluorescent Grey’ and ‘Rainwater Cassette Exchange’.
Fauver left Deerhunter in 2012 before work began on their fifth album, ‘Monomania’. Frontman Bradford Cox later told Pitchfork of the bassist’s departure: “There was never a fight, nothing acrimonious.”
The 39-year-old was also a member of Atlanta bands Electrosleep International and S.I.D.S. and had his own solo project, called Diet Cola. He ran the independent label Army Of Bad Luck, which released records for local bands like Pleasure Cruise and Battlecat, and Austin’s Finally Punk.
Deerhunter posted a photo of the band with Fauver on their Instagram page yesterday (November 3), captioned: “Very difficult times now.”
