From Filthy Frank to Joji: the growth and development of a bleeding heart

He has most recently disassociated from Filthy Frank, put the pink guy costume back in the closet and now dons a new cape as the true impassioned young man that he was behind the character.

I can say that his recent collaboration with the likes of Rich Brian, as well as Keith Ape with their collective 88Rising, and the vast amount talent between the three creatives, all of which juxtapose one another, helped capture his voice and embody what he really wanted to say through his platform.

I couldn’t help but be excited to see what would be the result.
Slow dancing in the dark became a song that would break my replay button if it were an actual, physical button.

The video opens with a shot of Joji himself, slumped over, leaning on a glass enclosure as he begins to light a cigarette, low on energy, and as the song begins, low on serotonin.

The opening lyrics denote a lonely Joji, one yearning for a relationship of something more than friends, then as the chorus enters, so does Joji’s wave of self doubt and loathing.
