Chris Brown has been released from prison after serving just over three weeks of a 131-day jail sentence. A Los Angeles Sheriff's deputy revealed early Monday morning that Brown had been released from Los Angeles County jail at 12:01am PST, but did not provide any further details, according to the Hollywood Reporter. On May 9th, Brown was sentenced to an additional 131 days behind bars after admitting to a Los Angeles judge that he was involved in an altercation in Washington D.C. while on probation.

Brown confirmed his release on Twitter, tweeting to his 13.5 million followers, "Humbled and Blessed," "Back to the Music and the Fans," and "Thank you GOD." While Brown's prison stay has come to an end, the singer is still expected to complete the remainder of 1,000 hours of community service, estimated at about 800 hours left.

Brown's release may expedite the end of a chapter in the singer's life where he seemingly shuttled in and out of prisons and rehabs: Initially sentenced to receive anger management and undergo a court-ordered rehabilitation program, Brown was making good process before he was dismissed from his rehab in March for violating "internal rules." The judge, who said Brown displayed an "inability to stay out of trouble," remanded the singer to jail until April 23rd, at which point the judge would determine if Brown's Washington D.C. fight was an additional violation of his probation. Brown was handed another 131 days in prison, a quarter of which he spent behind bars before his release this morning.

Brown's trial for the Washington D.C. assault is scheduled to begin this month.
