Fancy a Western?

Rockstar Games has revealed the artists behind the upcoming soundtrack for the anticipated game, Red Dead Redemption 2.

While the full list of artists involved will not be revealed until Friday when the game is officially released, the makers of Grand Theft Auto have confirmed that the sequel to the acclaimed and hugely successful Western-themed game will feature music by the likes of Arca and Brian Eno collaborator Daniel Lanois – as well as Queens Of The Stone Age drummer Jon Theodore and saxophonist Colin Stetson.

Woody Jackson returns to the franchise to write the score itself, having also been behind the music to Grand Theft Auto V. Daniel Lanois has also created “all of the vocal moments” in the game’s music with “additional vocal performances from a range of award-winning artists to be revealed soon.”

Set in 1899, Red Dead Redemption tells the story of former outlaw John Marston, whose wife and son are taken hostage by the government in ransom for his vigilante services.
