The track featured on Grande's 2013 debut album 'Yours Truly'

Ariana Grande has remembered Mac Miller on the sixth anniversary of their duet, ‘The Way’.

The track, which was released on March 25, 2013, was the lead single from the pop star’s debut album, ‘Yours Truly’.

Marking the anniversary, Grande posted on her Instagram story: “Six years.” At the bottom of the black screen, she also included a heart.

The singer dated Miller for two years before splitting up in May 2018. In September, the rapper died following an accidental overdose. Since then, Grande has paid tribute to him in songs that featured on her latest album ‘thank u, next’.

On the title track, she sang: “Wish I could say thank you to Malcolm/Cos he was an angel.” An instrumental on the track ‘Ghostin’’ also shares similarities with Miller’s ‘2009’, while fans have speculated the lyrics are about the late star.

Grande is currently on tour in the US as part of her ‘Sweetener’ world tour. She surprised fans in Washington D.C. on Monday (March 27) by performing an unreleased track.

‘Got Her Own’ was teased on the singer’s Snapchat back in 2016 but the full track has never been shared. While playing at the Capital One Arena, Grande and her collaborator Victoria Monét dropped the track after ‘7 Rings’.

The tour will arrive in the UK in August when the star will perform at London’s The O2 and headline Manchester Pride. More UK dates are also scheduled for September.
