Many actors, musicians and athletes have struggled with performance anxiety or fear of public speaking triggered by pressure to excel in front of large groups of people. Some experience it without any previous history, while others may be chronically afflicted. Despite being at the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart, singer Adele has revealed that she suffers from severe anxiety attacks that limit her ability to perform in large arenas. While posing for the cover of Q Magazine, the 23-year-old British singing sensation, whose soulful ballad, “Rolling in the Deep" became a top hit in several countries, stated that she often suffers from extreme anxiety attacks when performing for large audiences. She explained that she will not be participating in any large music festivals as a result of her anxiety.
