    Seedbox help

Hi, I'm looking for a good seedbox that can offer fast download speeds from REMOTE to LOCAL. Right now my current seedbox with a 100mbps unmetered bandwidth peaks at about 120kbps when downloading a file from the remote directory to the local using SmartFTP. Is that fast? Should I be using another prgram to connect to the remote directory? (like WinSCP, or SSH). Or should I switch seedboxes?

Use winSCP or putty, winSCP is much easier to use.
When your using FTP to take a file from your Seedbox HDD and put it on your Pc your not using your Seedbox server speeds, using FTP to transfer a file uses your own ISP connection speed so no matter what Seedbox provider you use this speed will not change unless you change ISP providers and get a faster plan.

Your download speed from your box depends on various factors.

You can only download from your box at a maximum of your line speed. Also it depends on your location vs your seedbox location and transit speeds. For example if your seedbox is in EU and you are in US its likely you will get slow speeds from your box because of low transit priority. You could get a US seedbox but then you would likely get slower torrent speeds because majority of torrent servers are in EU so its cache 22 really.

It could also be that you're trying to download a large single file which can also reduce speeds. If you are trying to download one large file its better to split it server side or to segment it using your FTP client. A client that can do this is CuteFTP and also SmartFTP.
