Quick question, what exactly is cross seeding - is it just have the same torrent file from different trackers on the box at the same time?
Is it frowned upon by some trackers (i.e. could you get banned)?

Some trackers do frown upon things like this, its always a good idea to read the tracker rules as they can vary quite a bit. Since most of the trackers sport the same material, this is a common practice used to help ratio building.

Cross seeding means that you grab a file from one tracker and seed it on another to build up your ratio. It´s most effective when you download the file from your tracker with the fastest pretime as soon as it´s released.
I don´t think there are many trackers left which mind cross seeding, but reading the rules is always a big advantage.

No,you can find a guide on how to do it on some trackers like TorrentLeech for example

most trackers don't mind cross seeding and doesn't count as cheating at all

I have the same question. I am looking for a ratioless tracker to cross-seed to my rest ratio based trackers. But since i bought some good trackers lately, i don't want to risk getting banned for cross-seeding.
I am not an expert, but theoretically a cheating software is doing pretty much the same with cross-seeding. 0 download and only upload. Isn't it ?
